This study employs a two-stage approach combining bibliometric and thematic analysis to explore the scholarly development of greenwashing research. Bibliometric data were extracted from the Scopus database using the keyword "greenwashing" without time restrictions and analyzed using the Bibliometrix package in Randits webinter face Biblioshiny.The analysis mapped scientific production trends, collaboration networks, key journals, and thematic clusters. Results show a sharp rise in greenwashing research post-2017, with China, the USA, the UK, and Italy as leading contributors. Key publication outlets include Sustainability, Business Strategy and the Environment, and the Journal of Cleaner Production. Thematic analysis of the ten most-cited articles revealed central debates around corporate motives, regulatory gaps, consumer skepticism, and stakeholder communication. Foundational scholars and emerging research on digital activism and Asian markets were identified. This study provides an integrated view of green washing scholar shipand highlights directions for future search toward greater transparency and accountability.
